Held between June 25 and July 22, 2016, the project represented a series of seven concerts by the Imago Mundi ensemble, held in five emblematic (Vitual Museum, Botanic Garden) or new/unconventional spaces (Cărturești Carusel, Lokal, Grădina Viitorului). These spaces are, assumed or not, reinterpretations of the Bucharest “summer garden” from the end of the 19th century – just like then (or, somewhat later, in the interwar period), the summer garden can play the role of the space for re-activating local communities; of relaxation in hot summer evenings; of (re)connection to the cultural life of the city.

The musical program “Isvor. George Enescu: Romanian Rhapsody vs. traditional music and urban folklore” – enthusiastically received in London, New York, Salzburg, Tunis or Granada, but also at Sala Radio in Bucharest, in a national premiere – explores the sources of inspiration used by the composer and draws a parallel between them and the context of broad of folk / urban mountain creations of the 19th century. The concerts held within the project are visually commented through video projections mixed in real time, the Imago Mundi ensemble proposing the rediscovery of the past from the perspective of the contemporary artist.
